Ongoing Groups and Classes (Free of charge. Donations gladly accepted.)

 * Domestic Violence Support Group: Wednesdays 5:00pm-6:00pm.  Contact Sandra @ 503-397-7110 to sign up for class & child care or to get location of group. 
 
 We may be able to provide childcare during the Wednesday night class and need to know beforehand in order to schedule a volunteer to do it, so please call ahead to let us know you need it. 

*Domestic Violence Education Class-"It's Not Ok Anymore" (INOKA):
The INOKA curriculum reflects a zero tolerance for abuse and violence yet is respectful of a person's right to stay or leave. The curriculum is a three part series: Ending Abuse, Taking Charge, and Loving Yourself. Each section has valuable material designed to empower and educate individuals to look at their lives and examine options that they have. The INOKA curriculum is focused on identifying types of abuse, the cycle of abuse, risk factors, getting safe, building awareness, building self esteem and establishing boundaries.

A 3-week series with 2 classes per week that provides educational tools and resources for domestic violence victims & survivors. New class series begins the 1st Tuesday of the month. Sessions are Tue & Fri from 10 to 12 @ CCWRC. One time fee of $25.00 for materials. Please call Jovanna at 503-397-7110 ext. 106 to pre-register.

* Volunteer Trainings: CCWRC conducts Volunteer Trainings consisting of 30-40 hours of information about domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, cultural competency, crisis intervention, effective advocacy and much more. Contact the office @ 503-397-7110 for more information.

Domestic Violence Awareness Month~October

We all know someone who has been touched by violence in some way. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The staff and volunteers of CCWRC would like to give you a way to honor those who have fought to survive domestic violence, those who strive to end it and those who have lost their battle with domestic violence. This may be a man, woman, or child.

At 5:00 p.m. October 15, 2008 the steps of the old courthouse building in Saint Helens will be lined with luminaria bags decorated with the names of those being honored. We invite you to join us for this ceremony of light, symbolizing the hope and courage we all share that someday domestic violence will end.

The cost of the luminaria bags is $1.00 each. Additional donations are appreciated. Feel free to purchase more than one luminaria bag.
